Buying a Car - When You Have Problems
If you have a current express warranty (if the warranty is verbal) you should contact your warranty provider and the motor dealer. Explain the problem to them and tell what you want. It is very important to keep notes of all conversations including the date, time and the name of the person you spoke to.
If you didn't purchase an express warranty you still have rights under law (statutory warranty). Legal advice is recommended if you wish to pursue this option.
It's always recommended that you continually follow up the motor dealer and give them every opportunity to rectify the problem.
You can also seek advice from ICAN by calling 1300 369 878. You can also call your local Office of Fair Trading or Consumer and Business Affairs Department. |
